1 1/2 cups Flour
2 cups Sugar
3/4 cup Cocoa powder, unsweetened Dutch
1 cup Chocolate chips
1 teaspoon Baking powder
1/2 teaspoon Salt
1 1/2 sticks Butter, softened
1 cup Applesauce
4 large Egg(s)
2 teaspoons Vanilla
Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, salt and chips.
Beat butter, applesauce, eggs, sugar and vanilla until blended.
Stir in dry ingredients until blended.
Bake in a 9 X 13 pan at 350º for about 25-30 minutes.
You can substitute Splenda for the sugar in this recipe. If you do, follow these 2 modifications………………
1. Mix the Splenda with the DRY ingredients and 2. increase the baking powder to 2 teaspoons.
